All the staff here at Halcyon Baptist Church serve in a volunteer capacity.
In June, 2019, I was inducted as Halcyon's Senior Pastor. My residence is in Texas, but I feel God's calling to help Halcyon get back on track with God's vision in the city of San Leandro. There is a special place in my heart for Halcyon and the community that God has placed around it. I will be speaking God's word here at least two times a month.
I am a native Ghanaian, but have been in the United States for over 20 years. I am the senior pastor for International Christian Worship Center that worships on the Halcyon campus. I have been graciously voted in as resident pastor while Halcyon is undergoing a replant process. I am available for any pastoral care that is needed.
I have been a volunteer at Halcyon Baptist Church since 2009. I am also the Director of our food pantry. My husband and I haved lived in San Leandro/Hayward area for the last 13 years. My purpose at Halyon is to serve in any capacity that I can. "He personally gave some to be ... teachers, for the training of the saints in the work of ministry, to build up the body of Christ." Epesians 4:11-12 (HCSB)
My name in Hebrew means light bearer, and my favorite Bible verse is "In the same way let your light shine before men, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:16 (HCSB)
I am a native to the bay area and have been attending Halcyon for ten years. It is my job to make sure the property is looking good and in good repair for our services and food pantry.
I serve the Lord by doing anything that is needed at Halcyon Baptist Church including maintaining the grounds and fixing anything that needs to be fixed. I have started anew the Men's Ministry and work the Homeless Ministry during our Food Pantry give away. I am also blessed to be a part of two different Celebrate Recovery groups in our area.
My favorite verse is Acts 20:35,
"In every way I’ve shown you that by laboring like this, it is necessary to help the weak and to keep in mind the words of the Lord Jesus, for He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
